Alimentaria 2012 closed after four days of intensive trade fair activity, in the GranVia de Fira de Barcelona trade fair centre.
The event brought together 142,000 professionals and close to 4,000 exhibiting companies. The number of visitors increased in comparison to the previous edition (+1.4%) despite the reduction of the length by a day and coinciding with the general strike on Thursday the 29th of March.
The attendance of international professionals also beat all records with approximately 40,000 visitors from 60 countries, 11% more than the previous edition in 2010.
